Corfu, the island of a thousand faces.
Yorgos hosts us in his apartment that overlooks a beautiful garden with olive, oranges and banana trees, rigorously beachfront! We enjoy a rich breakfast of yogurt, tomatoes, cheese with honey and liters of coffee!
Yorgos is a personage outside the box, an experienced traveler, a professional guide and a lover of sports. With him we organize cultural tours, walking and cycling tours, trekking across the Greek mainland and islands. Yorgos is a very wise, sincere and intelligent man, who is telling us his adventures around the world. We are happy to work with him and to be sure to have an extremely competent person as reference point for our Greece travels. We realize we have met a special person!
We start with the Sea Kayak crossing a lovely bay of Corfu, a great experience that we would recommend everyone to try! The Sea Kayak combines the sport to the discovery, it’s a great mix of relax and adrenaline.
Time is short so we head straight to the discovery of this magnificent island.
Corfu is located in the Archipelago of the Ionian Islands and is characterized by a crystalline sea and a very green hinterland dotted with olive trees. The island has been influenced by different cultures over the centuries, from the British to the Venetians who left a strong cultural and architectural impact here.
If you walk through the narrow streets of Corfu Town, the capital, it seems to be in Italy while in the main square of the city there is a cricket ground!
A panoramic road takes us to the mountain villages of Spartilas, Lafki and Sokraki, where time seems to stand still. We have the time to take a walk in the villages between beautiful gardens and well kept streets. Yorgos shows us the paths who cover with his clients, in the shade of olive trees to the sea.
We continue along the road to see from the top the bay of Agios Georgios and Paleokastritsa, located on the northwest coast of the island. The landscape is enchanting: green hills and turquoise sea.
Unwillingly we salute Yorgos that takes us back to the port to get back to Mainland Greece. Ioannina is the next destination!
